Brooke Henderson broke out of the gate in fine shape at the LPGA Tour’s kickoff event of the 2021 season.

Henderson came home solo ninth after posting a one-under 70 in the final round of the Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions at Tranquilo Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, FL. She earned $36,625.

The Smiths Falls native’s solid final round effort capped cards of 67, 69 and 65 in the first three rounds for a tournament total of 13-under 271.

Her impressive stats line in the top-10 finish featured 36 of 52 fairways hit, an average driving distance of 262 yards, she averaged total of 30 putts per round, and the Canadian hit 61 of 72 greens in regulation.

Jessica Korda of the U.S. won the event over Danielle Kang of the U.S. when she birdied the first hole of a playoff.

The two players went to the playoff after posting 72-hole 24-under 260 totals. Korda banked $180,000 and Kang earned $150,326.
